What a difference a year makes...

When we started the community centre a year ago, we had no idea what we were taking on, nor how to do it, but God had given us some instructions on what He wanted done, however as they conflicted with what 28 years of church faith had taught me, I was hesitant to make some  the changes He told us... like "Don't try to build a church" - that sounded bizarre, however Gods ways are not our ways, so we decided NOT to hold Sunday services, but instead started what were initially Friday meetings, to explore what God did want us to do, and in line with His commandment to "Keep the Sabbath Holy".

But that led to being identified as a Messianic congregation, which was also not what we had been told to be, and it quickly became obvious that nobody amongst us really understood what that meant anyway, and that after leaving the traditions of the church, we were encountering doctrinal positions within the Messianic community.... why swap one form of bondage for another?

The a Spanish church who had lost their building, asked if they could use ours, which seemed like a good idea, as we were not holding Sunday services anyway! - whilst they renegotiated with a bank for their old building.

What should have been a few weeks, turned into a few months, and then at Christmas they asked to continue the arrangement for a whole year. We refused, because although what they paid us helped with our rental costs, their presence stopped us gathering new members to our community, and in any case, we were charging too little.

As a result, we faced having to leave the building... partially bought about by the church we told to leave contacting the landlord directly and offering to take our building over... go figure the ethics in that!

Anyhow, everyday seems to be a 'crunch' day, when we are supposed to surrender our lease - and then God does a miracle, and our vision is restored, well we trust in God however He decides to move in our lives.

God is good.

Why am I mentioning this?

Simply put, I have decided that if God is closing the door (so to speak) we would NOT attempt to force it open, but if God was opening the door, we would rush through and push further into the Kingdom.

God has opened the door WIDE, so we will continue to preach the Kingdom of God, but with the pure word of scripture, no milk, solid food and the whole truth.

It's not popular, but if you have gotten fed up with religion, but are open to having relationship with God, why not call and see us.

We still have needs to be met, let God and your pocket book bee your guide as to whether you can help us meet them.

What can YOU do?
Different colours but we all use the same brush to paint with...

CHECK OUT THE VIDEOS....

Born to a family of Buddhists, Catholics, Methodists, and Muslims, Steve has a unique perspective on world religions and global politics. Having traveled to 40 countries as a Christian speaker, he has ministered in local churches, leadership seminars, missionary conferences, Bible schools and on TV and radio.

Derek Prince is probably the ONLY man of God that I have never found fault with in the delivery of His word, and the application in our lives. I highly recommend that if you are not aware of his ministry, you should spend time reading and hearing what he had to say, your life will be changed for the better.

Does your church have a religious spirit?

What can you do to help things change?

Wise words from a man of God... for today.

Statement of Faith

STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe...

Good question...

You have probably agreed to a statement of faith in your early church life, but like most people just assumed that it was correct, like it was the same as all the other traditional churches.... right?

Who were you to question things?

Well, you are the person who will one day stand before Yeshua/Jesus and give account for what you have believed, so you really should actually KNOW what you do believe.

I know we believe John 3:16-19 and as far as I can tell that is the minimum (and maximum) needed for salvation.

We believe the bible is the word of God/Yahweh and is divinely inspired.

But we also note though that our KJV was the end product of a list of translations that were written first in Hebrew/Aramaic/Syriac, then were translated into philosophical Greek, then again into Roman Latin, then Old German, and finally into Elizabethan English...

We also have found some contextual changes from start to finish, which deserve deeper study, and study to be approved is not an idle statement in scripture.

So stating what you believe when your very eternity may depend on it, is something we want to be sure about.

And so should you...

More as we establish the truths again, and if you are also interested, why not join us discovering that truth?

When we are able to we will be holding weekly public Q & A sessions, where all those people who dislike the concept of God can ask those awkward questions that normally get answered "God moves in mysterious ways" and will be answered sensibly, instead of in platitudes.

We believe we are here to help secular folk find solace, provisioning and Yeshua, though of course those aspects flow in reverse, but generally people need to find them in that order, not the reverse.

So we will probably have far more interaction with the people who are normally stood at the back of the church or required to turn up for a message and a sandwich, often given grudgingly.

So a word to the religious folk, you may be offended (which you have no right to be and stay scriptural in any case) but bear with us, you will be pleased when "everyone who was in distress, and everyone who was in debt, and everyone who was bitter in soul, gathered" are turned into "Mighty men (and women) of God"

OPENING HOURS

Tue - Fri: 11am - 2pm
all are welcome, coffee, tea and fresh cakes served daily.

So what vision has God given this body?

Not so much a 'church' but a community fellowship.

So many people have been hurt or burned by the ‘churches’ they attended, and we have seen that most of them blame God, not the churches responsible.

  • Open to everyone, we are not allowed to judge, nor sent to ‘convert’ anybody; that’s the Holy Spirits job, ours is to provide a place where if you hang out you will be able to reach the Holy Spirit if and when you want to.

  • Open 4 days a week to serve the community, with coffee, snacks and where needed hot soup from the coffee shop, and with love and ministry from the members who are there to serve.

  • A large portion of the space devoted to sofas / armchairs where local people who want company, advice, ministry, agape love and fellowship can congregate, to read papers. books, chat, discuss, learn and minister, between 11am - 2pm, but normally we are here until 3-4 pm, before we get to leave!

We hope you will come along and see us, check us out, enjoy some time with us, we do not bite!
